Winning $825,000 Lottery Ticket Sold At CT Convenience Store
A winning lottery ticket valued at $825,000 was sold at a Connecticut store.
An unnamed Massachusetts resident, from Worcester, claimed the "$1,000,000 Emeralds" prize from a ticket sold in Windham County, Connecticut Lottery announced on Monday, Aug. 22.
The ticket was purchased in the town of Thompson at the XtraMart, located at 9 Woodstock Ave., CT Lottery said.

40-Year-Old Killed After Car Skids Off Road, Crashes Into Two Poles, Police Say
A Connecticut man was killed after losing control of his car, skidding off the roadway and striking two utility poles, according to authorities
Windham County resident, Luis Enrique Aguilar-Ceron, age 40, of Canterbury, was killed in Tolland County around 11:20 p.m., Saturday, July 23 in the town of Stafford.
According to Connecticut state police, Aguilar-Ceron was traveling south on Furnace Avenue in Stafford when he lost control for an unknown reason and skidded off the roadway into the right shoulder, and then struck two poles.
He was pronounced dead on the scene by Stafford EMS.…
CT Man Accused Of Having Sexual Contact With 13-Year-Old
A Connecticut man wanted for allegedly having sexual conduct with a 13-year-old girl has been captured.
Windham County resident Eduardo Acevedo, age 33, of Moosup, was captured on Friday, June 10, with the help of the Lincoln, Rhode Island Police on a warrant from the Plainfield Police Department.
Through an investigation, it was determined that Acevedo had inappropriate sexual contact with a 13-year-old female, said Chief Mario Arriaga, of the Plainfield Police.

Four Age 21 Or Younger Killed, Another Seriously Injured In Connecticut Crash
Four people, all age 21 or younger, were killed and another person is in critical condition following a single-car crash in Connecticut.
It took place around 5 p.m., Monday, May 30, in Windham County in the town of Thompson near the Quaddick Reservoir.
The horrific crash, the second in Connecticut over the holiday weekend to kill four, took place at Quaddick Town Farm Road near Taylor Road when the driver of a 2017 Honda Civic attempted to pass another vehicle and lost control, said the Connecticut State Police.
