Massachusetts Father Dies While Hiking Mount Washington On Father's Day
An Andover man who was hiking a trail in the White Mountains on Father's Day has died from his injuries sustained from suffering severe hypothermia. Xi Chen, age 53, was attempting a Presidential Traverse off Gulfside Trail near Mt. Clay when he was "overcome with severe weather conditions," New Hampshire Fish & Game said on Facebook. Chen's wife, Lian Liu, alerted crews her husband needed help around 6:30 p.m. on Sunday, June 19. Cold Air Mass With Gusty Winds Will Make It Feel More Like March As First Day Of May Nears
Don't adjust your calendar. We really are just a few days away from the first day of May. But it will feel more like March as the month of April comes to a close with strong winds triggering the blustery stretch. "As colder air streams southward from Canada into the Northeast, there will likely be an uptick in winds across the region," according to AccuWeather.com. (See the first image above.) FBI Issues Nationwide Alert For Missing College Student From New England
A nationwide alert has been issued by the FBI for a college student from New England who mysteriously disappeared nearly two decades ago. Maura Murray was a 21-year-old UMass Amherst nursing student in 2004 when she went missing minutes after crashing her car off Route 112 in Haverhill, New Hampshire. Investigators said that Murray was last seen on surveillance footage on the day of her disappearance on Feb. 9, 2004, at an ATM machine wearing dark jeans and a jacket, prompting the FBI to create a Violent Criminal Apprehension Profile for her near the 18th anniversary of her going missing. …

Storm Bringing Wintry Mix Will Drop Up To A Foot Of Snow In Parts Of Northeast
Most of the region will see rain and sleet from a wintry storm that will sweep through the region over the weekend, but parts of the Northeast could see up to a half-foot to a foot of snow. Saturday, Dec. 18 will be dreary with cold rain at times in areas farther south during the day and mixed precipitation and snow farther north during the day and into the evening. Wave Of Cold Air Will Bring First Accumulating Snowfall To Parts Of Northeast
A new weather pattern bringing in a wave of cold air will lead to the first accumulating snowfall of the season in parts of the Northeast, according to AccuWeather and the National Weather Service. Snowfall is expected after nightfall Saturday, Nov. 13 into Sunday morning, Nov. 14 in the areas shown in blue and pink in the first image above.
