Teen Struck In Hit, Run Crash; Western Mass Police Asking For Videos Hampden County police are asking for the public's help to find an SUV that crashed into a 15-year-old boy as he crossed the street over the weekend and sped away.  The crash happened just before 5 p.m. on Sunday near the Piper and Amostown Roads area, West Springfield police said. A white SUV hit the teen as he crossed Piper Road and kept driving.  The teen was knocked to the ground and suffered minor injuries, police said. City officials lifted the order Friday, April 21, after a second round of tests showed the water was safe to drink.  The boil order was implemented after a 24-inch water transmission pipe on Gooseberry Road broke on Tuesday, causing low pressure for hundreds of residents and fears about potential bacterial infections.  The Department of Public Works repaired the pipe, and the EPA ran multiple water quality tests over several days to verify it was safe to consume from the tap, the city said in its announcement.  …

One Injured In Rollover Wreck In West Springfield That Caused Rush-Hour Delay: Police One person was injured in a crash during Monday morning rush hour, April 10, in West Springfield, authorities said.  The wreck happened on Route 20 near Charles Ave. around 8 a.m. Police closed a lane on Route 20 and detoured traffic down Sibley Ave. for about an hour as firefighters and officers cleared the scene, West Springfield police said.  Paramedics took one person to the hospital with minor injuries. Officials didn't release any information about the injured person or the cause of the crash.

Woman, 25, And Her Dog Killed While Taking Walk In West Springfield: Police A 25-year-old woman was hit by a car and killed while walking her dog Tuesday afternoon in West Springfield, authorities said.  The woman, whose name was not released, was walking near the intersection of Piper Rd and Monastery Ave just after 5:30 p.m. when a car crashed into her, West Springfield police said. Responders rushed her to a nearby hospital, but doctors could not save her life. The woman's dog was also killed in the wreck.  The driver remained on the scene and was cooperating with investigators. No charges have been filed.

Man Seriously Injured After Crashing Into Tree In West Springfield: Police Paramedics rushed a man to the hospital after he wrecked his car in an early-morning, single-vehicle wreck in West Springfield, authorities said.  The man was driving west on Route 20 when his car crossed the center lane and went off the road near Fife Lane before smashing into a tree around 12:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 7, West Springfield police said.  First responders found the man unconscious but breathing before taking him to a nearby hospital for treatment.   Police are investigating the cause of the crash and have not released the driver's name.
