For nearly 45 years, police in Massachusetts only knew the body of a woman found shot in a wooded area in the Hampshire County town of Granby simply as the "Granby Girl." They now know the Connecticut resident's name, but who killed the 28-year-old and left her out there remains a mystery. The Hampden County District Attorney is asking the public to help police identify who owned a white tank top found near the body of 10-year-old Holly Piirainen in 1993. The shirt has the word Boston written across the chest in purple, pink, and blue letters, District Attorney Anthony Gulluni showed during a press conference on Wednesday morning, Feb. 1. Molly Bish Family Wants DNA Submitted To Ancestory Websites In Search For Killer
The family of Molly Bish - a teenage victim of an unsolved murder 20 years ago - is seeking a change in how police investigate mysterious homicides. In Boston, the Bish family is pushing for the passage of a “Familial DNA” bill, which would allow police to submit unknown DNA samples to ancestry websites seeking a suspect’s family members or the killer himself, according to Boston News 25.
