Decomposing Body Found Near Western Mass Baseball Field: Police
A maintenance worker cutting brush at Wahconah Park in Berkshire County on Tuesday morning, Oct. 10, found a human body in "an advanced state of decomposition," Pittsfield police said. Police were called to the scene, and the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner's Office also arrived to collect the body parts to begin its investigation. Kayaker Finds Body On Riverbank Near Western Mass Bridge: Firefighters
Holyoke firefighters and police were called to Muller Bridge Sunday morning after a kayaker body on the bank of a river. Crews responded just before noon to Long Pond Road after receiving reports of the corpse washed up on the bank, the Holyoke Fire Department said. Police closed a section of the road for several hours as they investigated and cleared the scene. Police are investigating the cause of death. Detectives have not released the identification of the body or any information on how they could have ended up in the water.

Police Investigating After Man's Body Found In Connecticut River
Police launched an investigation after a man’s body was found by a boater in the Connecticut River in Western Mass. The discovery in Hampshire County happened around 6 p.m., Friday, May 21, in the river in Northampton, said Laurie Loisel, director of Communications for the Northwestern District Attorney's Office. The boater summoned emergency help when he discovered the body and then stayed with the body to help the police find it, Loisel said.
