Griswold Crash Leaves Massachusetts Trucker Dead A 42-year-old Middlesex County, Massachusetts, man died after crashing his truck down an embankment along I-395 in Connecticut. Tim Murray, of Ashby, crashed his Freightliner truck in Griswold, New London County between Exit 24 and 28 around 8:30 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 8 Construction had closed the southbound right-hand lane of the highway. As Murray merged into the left lane, his 2019 Freightliner hit a guardrail. Murray corrected the truck but not before striking another section of the guardrail.  The truck tumbled down an embankment. Authorities pronounced Murray dead at the scene.…

56-Year-Old ID'd As Victim In Fatal Motorcycle Crash In Central Mass A 56-year-old New Hampshire man was identified as the victim in a crash on Saturday, June 8, in Worcester, authorities said.  Robert Petterson, of Farmington New Hampshire, crashed his motorcycle after the Harley Davidson came in contact with a 2020 Honda CRV around 1:40 p.m. on I-290 Westbound, Massachusetts State Police said.  Paramedics rushed Petterson to an area hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead. A stretch of I-95 in Connecticut has now fully reopened three days after a fire involving a tanker with 8,500 gallons of gas days earlier. Northbound lanes on the stretch in Norwalk reopened Saturday evening, May 4. Lanes opened on the southbound side reopened late Sunday morning, May 5, earlier than had been expected. Triple Trouble: Family Gets Combative With Troopers After Wrong-Way Stop In CT, Police Say Three relatives were arrested following a wrong-way traffic stop on a Connecticut highway in which the women allegedly became combative with troopers. The incident happened at around 10:30 p.m. Monday, April 22, on I-84 in Hartford. Connecticut State Police said a trooper was responding to a crash near Exit 46 when they saw a Jeep going westbound in the eastbound lanes.  The Jeep then drove off the roadway into a grassy area before turning around to face east. Western Mass Driver Critical After Brutal Attack By Dirt Bikers, ATV Drivers, Police Say A Western Massachusetts man is in critical condition after being assaulted by a large group of dirt bikers and ATV drivers following a small traffic mishap. The incident took place around 9:30 p.m., Monday, July 5, near the X intersection when the driver came in contact with one of the dirt bikes tires at a stoplight, said Springfield Police Commissioner Cheryl Clapprood at a press conference. Rollover Closes Section of I-395 Northbound Rollover Closes Section of I-395 Northbound
Rollover Closes Section of I-395 Northbound A portion of I-395, northbound, near Exit 3 in Webster has been closed early this morning, July 16.  State Police report a rollover accident is the cause of the traffic snarls. The area is predicted to reopen around 10 a.m., according to the Massachusetts State Police live traffic map.  As of 9 a.m., highway traffic was slowed to a crawl by Exit 3 and on the nearby Cudworth Road.
