Two men have been arrested for alleged possession of drugs and guns after complaints from their Western Massachusetts neighbors.
Jonathan Torres and Antonio Marin, both of Springfield, were arrested around 2:20 p.m., Friday, July 16, while officers were addressing numerous citizens’ complaints about drug and gun activity as well as loitering on Fernwold Street in Springfield, said Ryan Walsh, spokesman for the Springfield Police Department.

A Western Massachusetts man has been arrested for allegedly firing a gun at police officers and bystanders on a city street before being arrested.
Jose Montanez, age 43, of Springfield was apprehended around 7:25 p.m., Sunday, June 20,
Montanez, who is well-known to police, was arrested after officers responded to the 0-100 block of High Street for a ShotSpotter Activation indicating five rounds of gunfire, said Ryan Walsh, spokesman for the Springfield Police Department.

Three Shot, One Fatally, At Housing Complex In Western Mass
Three men were shot, one fatally, during an incident in Western Massachusetts.
The incident took place in Hampden County around 10:10 p.m., Tuesday, April 27, in Springfield when officers responded to Williams Sands Jr. Road at the Robinson Gardens housing complex for a report of a person shot, said Ryan Walsh, spokesman for the Springfield Police.
When officers arrived on the scene they found two men inside an apartment with gunshot wounds, Walsh said.

Man Accused Of Shooting Girl In Leg In Western Mass, Police Say
A Western Massachusetts man has been arrested for allegedly shooting a girl in the leg.
Hampden County resident Jose Estrada, age 21, of Agawam, was arrested around 6:55 p.m., Friday, April 9, for the shooting which took place around an hour earlier in the area of Worthington and Armory streets, in Springfield, said Springfield Police spokesman Ryan Walsh.
According to Walsh, officers were responding to the area for a disturbance when they heard several gunshots and found a juvenile female with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the leg.
