Tornado Touches Down In Connecticut Town
A weak tornado touched down in Connecticut during an intense thunderstorm over the weekend. The twister touched down in Litchfield County in the town of Roxbury around 9 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 12, and lasted for about five minutes, said the National Weather Service. Rated as an EF-0, the weakest on the Enhanced Fujita scale, the damage included large broken tree limbs that started along Minor Bridge Road and moved northwest and uphill before ending near Town Line Road, the weather service said. Broadway legend Stephen Sondheim's Connecticut estate is estimated to be worth about $75 million, according to a new report. The New York Post said that court documents show the estimated value of the estate, which includes the late composer's personal effects and rights to his music. Sondheim died on Friday, Nov. 26, at the age of 91 at his home in the Litchfield County town of Roxbury. Attempted Break-In Report Leads To DUI, Narcotics Bust, Cash Seizure, CT State Police Say
A report of an attempted break-in in Connecticut led police to arrest a 25-year-old on charges of driving under the influence and possession of drugs. Troopers responded to a report of an individual possibly breaking into a Litchfield County home in Roxbury at about 11:45 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 27, according to Connecticut State Police. State Police were given a description of a white Chevy pickup and a male suspect leaving the scene, authorities said.
