A 42-year-old man is accused of crashing a stolen car into a family, killing a 10-year-old boy, and sending several others to the hospital in Norfolk County this weekend, authorities said.
Michael Escolas, of Oxford, is expected to be charged with motor vehicular manslaughter — OUI, theft of a vehicle, and others, the Norfolk County District Attorney said. He was being held on a $25,000 bail.

Worcester Man, 31, Killed In Fiery Oxford Crash On Route 395
A 31-year-old man was killed Friday night, Sept. 29, after his car veered off the road and crashed into a tree, authorities said.
Shawn Marengo, 31, of Worcester, was driving his Jeeps south on Route 395 in Oxford near Exit 4 around 10 p.m. when he left the roadway, Massachusetts State Police say.
The Jeep slammed into a tree and caught fire. Marengo was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
It's unclear what caused his car to leave the road. State police are investigating the circumstances that led up to the fatal incident.

Wanted Driver Crashes Car, Charged With Endangering Child In Oxford: Police
A Charlton man who already had a warrant out for his arrest is facing charges for endangering a child after crashing his car in Oxford this week, authorities said.
Wayne Pelletier, age 59, was charged with operating to endanger, speed greater than reasonable, operating with a suspended license, and a marked lanes violation in connection with the crash.

A man in Dudley led police on a chase before firing a gun into the air when cornered by officers on Thursday, Feb. 9.

More than 50 Massachusetts cities and towns are now considered to be at “high-risk” for spreading COVID-19 infections, according to the most recent state data.
