Matthew Nedorostek, 66, of Westfield, fell into the Greenfield silo just before 9 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 24, the Northwestern District Attorney's Office said. Western Mass Man Killed By Machinery On CT Farm; Osha Investigating A man was killed this week after he was hit by a piece of heavy machinery in Connecticut, authorities said.  The 68-year-old Springfield, Massachusetts, man was at Lindy Farms on Fletcher Road when a skid steer loader backed into him just after 11:15 a.m., Enfield Police said. Authorities believe he was bending over, and the driver could not see him. Feds Cite Litchfield County Company For 48 Safety, Health Violations After Employee’s Death A Connecticut company has been cited by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration for 48 safety violations after an employee was electrocuted and died. The incident took place in Litchfield County at PM Engineered Solutions Inc. when an employee of the metal fabrication company was electrocuted in July while repairing a portable water heater in Watertown.  An inspection by OSHA found that the company lacked safeguards to protect employees against electrocution, as well as mechanical, chemical, fall, and other electrical hazards, said the US Department of Labor. Resort Worker Killed By Snowmobile In Berkshires, Officials Say The Massachusetts State Police Detective Unit is investigating an apparent accidental death at a Western Massachusetts resort.  According to Andrew McKeever, of the Berkshires District Attorney's Office, detectives responded to the Jiminy Peak Mountain Resort in Hancock on Tuesday, Jan. 4, following a snow groomer and a snowmobile collision.
