'In Plain Sight': Gun Sighting Grants Eastern Mass Man OUI, Weapons Charges
A Massachusetts State Trooper's quick eye and a Brookline man's poor hiding skills resulted in him getting slapped with several weapons and drug-related charges. Stewart Silvestri, age 24, was arrested after a Trooper spotted a gun "in plain sight" in Silvestri's car while at a weigh station on I-95 in Rowley on Saturday night, Oct. 15, State Police said. Not only did the Trooper see the handgun along with a 50-round drum magazine, he also saw another gun under Silvestri's driver seat. Man Nabbed After New England Court Appearance With 70 Pounds Of Marijuana
A man apparently did not learn his lesson when he tried leaving a Massachusetts courthouse with 70 pounds of marijuana after appearing in court earlier that day for similar offenses, authorities said. Yves Duboc, age 43, of Biddeford, Maine, appeared in Newburyport District Court for driving without a license and illegal marijuana possession on Wednesday, June 29, Massachusetts State Police said. Rowley Man Accidentally Sets Fireworks Off In His Apartment: Fire Officials
A Rowley man will be in court after accidentally lighting illegal fireworks inside his apartment last week, fire officials said. An alarm prompted fire crews to respond to the area of 870 Haverhill Street on the morning of Friday, June 10, Rowley Fire Chief James C. Broderick and State Fire Marshal Peter J. Ostroskey said in a joint statement. Witnesses reported hearing the sound of an explosion and heavy smoke but no fire was reported, officials said.
