Subaru announced a recall of nearly 200,000 vehicles that have had faulty transmissions that could increase the risk of a crash, the company announced. Honda is recalling approximately 725,000 SUV and pick-up trucks due to fault hoods that may fly open while vehicles are moving. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) said that recall came about because certain models of Honda vehicles have “a hood that opens while driving can obstruct the driver’s view and increase the risk of a crash." Volvo announced it is recalling hundreds of thousands of vehicles that may potentially have faulty airbags that could be fatal in the event of a crash. The automaker announced that it is recalling 460,769 older model cars - more than 250,000 of which were sold in the US - that could be potentially deadly if a driver crashes. Hyundai and Kia are recalling more than 550,000 vehicles in the US that may have turn signals that flash in the opposite direction of what the driver intended. The recall includes some Hyundai Sonata models between 2015 and 2017; Hyundai Sonata gas-electric hybrids produced in 2016 and 2017; and Kia Sedona minivan models between 2015 and 2017. GM Recalls Vehicle For Second Time Due To Battery Defect That Can Cause Fires
General Motors has issued a new recall of one of its vehicles due to battery defects that can lead to a risk of fires. The company is recalling 50,932 2017-2019 Chevrolet Bolt electric vehicles that were covered under a previous recall announced in November of 2020 and revised in May of 2021, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Hundreds of thousands of Toyota vehicles are being recalled due to potentially faulty airbags that may not inflate during a collision, the company announced. Toyota is recalling approximately 280,000 Venza SUVs in the US that were produced between 2009 and 2015 due to an issue with the wiring of the airbags.
