26-Year-Old Motorcyclist Killed After Being Thrown From Bike In Central Mass
Police say excessive speed caused an early morning crash on Monday, Sept. 9, in Worcester that killed a motorcyclist. The crash was reported around 2:45 a.m. near 465 Shrewsbury St. The 26-year-old Westborough rider was thrown from the motorcycle and died at the scene, Worcester police said. The man's name has not been released. An initial investigation found that the rider was traveling at an "extremely high rate of speed" when he hit a vehicle as it was turning left, Worcester police said. Motorcyclist Killed In Hampshire County Crash ID'd
A 70-year-old man was killed over the weekend after crashing with a truck in Hampshire County, authorities said. James Lis, of Three Rivers, died on Saturday, Aug. 24, in a crash in Hadley, the Northwestern District Attorney's Office said on Monday. Lis was driving his motorcycle north on East Street when he crashed with a truck driving south that was turning into a driveway around noon. Paramedics took him to Baystate Medical Center, where he later died. Authorities are investigating the cause of the crash.

Melissa Repka Admits To Crash That Killed Gregory Herzig
A 39-year-old Berkshire County woman admitted to causing a 2023 crash that killed a Franklin County motorcyclist, authorities said on Tuesday, July 30. Melissa Repka, of North Adams, pleaded guilty to motor vehicle homicide by negligent operation on Tuesday, the Northwestern District Attorney's Office said. A judge sentenced her to two-and-a-half years in prison, though she will only spend nine months behind bars. The remainder was suspended, as she serves two years of probation, the prosecutor said. Funeral Set For Central Mass Marine Killed In California Motorcycle Crash
A funeral for a beloved US Marine from Worcester County who was killed last month in a motorcycle crash is scheduled for later this week. Connor Kelly, 21, of Webster, died on May 30 while driving home from taking his fiancee to a dentist's appointment, his family said. The Worcester native would have turned 22 years old on July 1. His family will hold calling hours on Saturday, June 15, from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Paradis-Givner Funeral Home at 357 Main St. in Oxford. Pregnant Mass Native, 37, Killed In Apparent Murder-Suicide In Arizona
A 37-year-old pregnant woman originally from Massachusetts was one of the victims of an apparent murder-suicide in Arizona last month, according to authorities. Sarah Scott, a Melrose native, was found shot the death along with 27-year-old Jacob De Zeeuw and 6-year-old Jacob at Phoenix home on Tuesday, March 21, Phoenix Police report. Man Killed In Two-Vehicle Crash In Region
A man has died after a crash involving another car in Western Mass. At around 2:50 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 14, officers were called to the 900 block of Boston Road for the crash involving a car and motorcycle, according to Springfield Police spokesman Ryan Walsh. The man driving the motorcycle was taken to Baystate Health where he died from his injuries, Walsh said. Walsh said a preliminary investigation indicates the motorcycle rider was driving at a high rate of speed. The driver of the car remained at the scene.
