Officials are warning residents and motorists to use caution after another large moose was spotted in Connecticut. The moose was spotted in Hartford County in Bloomfield just three days after two were killed on I-91 by motorists just two miles away. Second Moose Killed In Crash On CT Roadway
A second moose has been hit and killed in Connecticut by a vehicle on the same day. The Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) says the moose was killed in Hartford County around 8:30 p.m., Wednesday, May 17, in Hartland on Route 179. No injuries were reported in the crash. The moose was an approximately 550-pound male and was estimated to be 1 to 2 years old, DEEP said. A large moose seems to have made quite a journey over the past few days, with multiple sightings in parts of Fairfield County. Meteorologist Jack Drake shared photos and videos on his Facebook page of a large moose that was spotted at the AMC movie theater in Danbury on Monday, Sept. 26. Police have issued an alert about a wild moose that has made a big impression on residents in a Connecticut town. The Winchester Police Department in Litchfield County announced on Thursday, March 31, that it has received a number of complaints about the moose spotted in the area, and people approaching and crowding the animal. Three Hospitalized After Moose Struck, Killed By Car In Connecticut
Three people were hospitalized after a car struck and killed a pregnant moose in Connecticut. The incident happened at around 9:40 p.m. Saturday, May 1 in Litchfield County, on Route 272 in the Town of Goshen near the Town of Norfolk. The car, a 2011 Subaru Legacy, was driven by a 38-year-old woman from Torrington, Connecticut State Police said.
