Haverhill Car Dealer Charged Black, Hispanic Customers More Than Whites: Mass AG The state's top law enforcement officer filed a lawsuit against a Haverhill car dealership and accused them of overcharging Black and Hispanic customers.  The Massachusetts Attorney General's lawsuit alleges that Jaffarian Volvo Toyota charged Black customers $510 more and Hispanic car buyers $429 more on average than they did white shoppers.  Jaffarian Volvo Toyota did this through add-ons and additional costs for features such as paint protection, GAP insurance, and remote starters that it didn't charge for white customers, the Attorney General's Office said. The …

Dental Chain Used Deceptive Ads To Cheated Patients In New England, Lawsuit Says Thousands of Massachusetts patients were allegedly victimized through deceptive advertising by Aspen Dental, according to a lawsuit filed against the dental giant. On Thursday, Dec. 9,  Massachusetts Attorney General Maura Healey filed a lawsuit against Aspen Dental alleging the dental chain cheated thousands of Massachusetts consumers through a series of bait and switch advertising campaigns. The complaint alleges that Aspen Dental violated the state Consumer Protection Law and the assurances Aspen Dental made to the AG’s Office in a 2014 settlement addressing similar conduct. …
