A storm with periods of rain and gusty winds will also bring spring snowfall and a wintry mix in parts of the Northeast. The system, which has weakened after fueling tornadoes in the Southeast, arrives in this region late Wednesday afternoon, March 23. These Areas Could See Snow Showers, Squalls Before Potential For More Widespread Storm
Temperatures won't be quite as cold in the first days of March but parts of the region could see rounds of evening snow showers and snow squalls before the potential of the arrival of a more widespread system later this week. Tuesday, March 1 will be mostly cloudy with a high temperature in the low 40s and wind-chill values between 20 and 30 degrees, according to the National Weather Service. A Memorial Day weekend that was more like March than May was followed by a summerlike stretch with high temperatures hitting the 90s. The topsy-turvy weather pattern will take another turn with a return to cooler temperatures starting this weekend and continuing into next weekend, according to AccuWeather. Strong Wind Gusts Could Cause Power Outages As Cold Front Will Bring Chance Of Snow Showers
The active weather pattern that marked the month of February is continuing right into March. Two days of on and off rain will end late Monday morning, March 1, followed by an Arctic cold front that will push through the region, bringing strong, gusty winds, brutal wind chill, and a chance for snow showers and squalls.
