A local pub will have a hearing with the Massachusetts Board of Alcoholic Beverages Control Commission later this month to address numerous alleged COVID-19 violations and learn the fate of the establishment's liquor license. Bugalu Ballroom Coming To Western Mass City
The Bugalu Ballroom is seeking a liquor license for the High Street events venue and bar. On Wednesday, Sept. 9, the Holyoke Licensing Board will hold a public hearing on the transfer of an annual all-alcohol license formerly held by TNT Pizza to Bugalu. TNT Pizza closed in 2019. Known for its live music and neighborhood atmosphere, TNT Pizza on South Street has been missed by area musicians. Bugalu Ballroom, 120 High St., is owned by Emily Ortiz Santos.

A New Restaurant For Northampton? T. Roots Applies For Liquor License
T. Roots Inc. is seeking a new seasonal liquor license in Northampton. The company, which was founded in May, has plans to open a restaurant at 249 Main St., according to public records. It is the site of the former Viva Fresh Pasta restaurant on the corner of Main and Masonic streets. Viva closed in August 2019. Owners are applying for a new seasonal wine and malt restaurant license. A Northampton License COmmission hearing on the liquor application will be held, virtually, Aug. 5 at 4 p.m. T.
