'Swatting' Hoax Threats Send Multiple Massachusetts School Into Lockdowns
Multiple Massachusetts schools have been forced into lockdowns because of fake gun and bomb threats, otherwise known as "swatting" incidents, over the past four days. "Swatting" is defined as "the action or practice of making a prank call to emergency services in an attempt to bring about the dispatch of a large number of armed police officers to a particular address," according to Oxford Language. Sprinklers Prevent Further Damage To Classic Cars At North Shore Storage Unit
Fire officials on the North Shore are applauding more than just their own crews for containing a fire and preventing further damage at a classic car storage unit in Ipswich over the weekend. Firefighters responded to the fire at Clam Town Classics, located at 11 Old Right Road, just before noon on Saturday, June 25, the Ipswich Fire Department said. Upon arrival, crews found heavy smoke coming from the building, which houses several classic cars. Greater Boston Area Contractor Sentenced For $1.8M Payroll Tax Scheme
An Ipswich man who ran several Massachusetts businesses was sentenced to a one-year house arrest for manipulating his payroll to avoid paying over $1.8 million in taxes, the US Attorney's Office for Massachusetts reports.
