The mild winter of 2022-23 may become a distant memory with more typical conditions expected in 2023-24, according to the Old Farmer's Almanac.
"The 2024 Old Farmer’s Almanac predicts snow, seasonable cold, and all of winter’s delights," states the publication, which has been making long-term weather forecasts since 1792. CT Homeless Shelter Deputy Director Killed In Crash Remembered As 'Selfless'
A popular, fun-loving, and what many called "selfless" person was one of two people killed in a crash on a Connecticut highway.
Tolland County resident, Bryan Flint Sr., age 64, of Ellington, was deputy director of the Cornerstone Foundation in the Rockville section of Vernon, died in the crash on I-95 on Sunday, May 7, which also injured his two grandchildren.

A complex storm is bringing rain to much of the region, with sleet farther inland, and as much as a foot of snow in some spots in upstate New York and northern New England.
The storm, which arrived late Sunday afternoon, Jan. 22, has continued into Monday morning, Jan. 23.

State police cruisers were struck in separate Christmas Eve Day crashes in Connecticut - one in Fairfield County and the other in Middlesex County.
Just after 6 a.m. Friday, Dec. 24, a Daibeliz Taveras, age 33, from Brooklyn, New York, traveling northbound on I-95 a half-mile south of the Exit 17 off-ramp in Norwalk lost control of her 2018 Dodge Journey and struck another vehicle, before drifting and colliding with the cruiser, state police said.

A Fairfield County man has admitted to his role in a car theft ring in Connecticut and neighboring states.
Christopher Mulkern, also known as “Chucky,” age 21, of Stratford, pleaded guilty Friday, April 30 before US District Court in Bridgeport to a federal car theft offense.
According to court documents and statements made in court, the FBI, Connecticut State Police, and local police have been investigating multiple car theft rings in Connecticut, and violent crimes that are being committed using stolen vehicles.
