Mass Man Seriously Injured In Grizzly Bear Attack At National Park
A 35-year-old Massachusetts man was seriously injured after they were attacked by a grizzly bear at the Grand Teton National Park in Wyoming on Sunday, May 19, authorities said. Park rangers believe the man had a "surprise encounter" with two grizzly bears that afternoon when one of them attacked, according to a press release from the National Park Service. The man's name was not released. Man Pulled From Central Mass Swamp After Getting Stuck For More Than Hour
Police and firefighters in Worcester County saved a man after he fell into a swamp and was stuck for more than an hour, authorities said. First responders began receiving 911 calls just after 4:30 p.m. Friday, July 28, from people who said they could hear a man screaming for help on Pitcherville Road in Hubbardston. They found the man stuck in chest-deep murky water in a swamp about 30 yards from the road, Hubbardston firefighters said. Hikers Launch Fundraiser For Westford Native Who Died Climbing NH Mountain
Emily Sotelo was determined to climb all of New Hampshire's 48 mountains over 4,000 feet tall before her 20th birthday. The Westford, Massachusetts, native had topped 40 of them and wanted to finish the others while on Thanksgiving break from Vanderbilt University. Unfortunately, Sotelo disappeared while hiking up Mount Lafayette on Nov. 20, 2022. Searchers found her body was found three days later, as previously reported by Daily Voice.
