Popular Ice Cream Products Recalled Over Listeria Concerns, FDA Says Approximately 70 ice cream products sold by multiple brands including Friendly's and Hershey's are being recalled due to a possible presence of listeria, the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) said. The brands were recalled this week by Totally Cool, Inc. based in Owings Mills, MD, which has stopped the production and distribution of the affected products due to FDA sampling. Friendly's In Palmer Closed After 62 Years In Business Friendly's, the ice cream and restaurant chain and a mainstay on North Main Street in Palmer, has closed its doors for good.   The restaurant abruptly shut down the store on Monday, June 19, leaving a sign on the front window that reads, "This restaurant has permanently closed. THANK YOU for your patronage." It directed anyone in Palmer in the mood for a Fribble to the next closest Friendly's in Springfield. Friendly’s Opens First Fast-Casual Cafe Restaurant chain Friendly's has launched its first fast-casual cafe.  The company announced that it has opened its first "Friendly's Cafe" in Hampden County, Massachusetts.  The eatery is located at 291 East Main St. in Westfield.
