Homeowner Escapes 2 Alarm Blaze In Westborough: Firefighters
A Westborough homeowner can thank their fire alarm for helping them escape a two-alarm blaze on Friday morning, Feb. 24. The blaze broke out just before 6:30 a.m. at 65 Adams St. near the intersection with Orchard Hill Drive, authorities said. The fire started in the living room and quickly spread. Westborough firefighters were fast to the scene, and with help from several area fire crews, they had it under control by 7:15 a.m., officials said. A single-vehicle crash turned into a blazing fire, officials say. Only a small amount of smoke was visible when officials responded to the scene of a car crash in Hartford County on East Main Street/Route 44 in Avon around 9:45 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 21, according to the Avon Police Department. Police in Sturbridge are asking for the public's help to find a trio of kids who sparked a fire while playing with fireworks this week and then ran away. Multiple people called 911 on Thursday, Dec. 16, when they saw the three kids — all seemed to be 12 or 13 years old — playing with fireworks along New Boston Road. A 5-year-old boy who was seriously burned when a home caught fire in Chicopee on Christmas Eve has died, state officials said on Tuesday, Jan. 3.
