911 Callers Alert Police To Wrong-Way Driver On CT Highway A wrong-way driver who was allegedly driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol was nabbed by Connecticut State Police after numerous motorists called 911. The incident took place in Litchfield County around 1:30 a.m., Friday, May 19 on Route 8 in Torrington. According to state police, Litchfield County Dispatch began receiving 911 calls reporting a vehicle traveling southbound on Route 8 in the northbound lanes in the area of Exit 43 in Torrington.
