Cotton Candy Makers Ignite Sugar, Sparking Large Recall Thousands of cotton candy makers are being recalled after a dozen reports of sparking and fire.  Wuensche USA issued the recall for about 21,690 Ambiano Cotton Candy Makers, the Consumer Product Safety Commission said on Thursday, Sept. 18. The heating element can cause sugar to ignite if the machine is used without the included sugar receptacle, posing a fire hazard. Wuensche has received 12 reports of sparking or fire. No injuries have been reported, according to the CPSC. The recall covers models that came in red or teal with a clear plastic cover. Space Heaters May Have Caused Fatal Fire - Victim ID'd Fire officials have determined the cause of a fatal fire in Blackstone, while the District Attorney has identified the victim. On Tuesday, Feb. 2, fire and law enforcement officials said the cause of the Jan. 30 fire at 16 Auclair St. in Blackstone was electrical. The fire, which engulfed a one-family home converted with an apartment on the side, was fatal for Teagan “Dave” Lafayette, 30, who lived there.
