A new program is coming to Massachusetts to help employers get their employees vaccinated for COVID-19. Massachusetts Gov. Charlie Baker announced the state’s new Employer Vaccination Program, which will provide two options to more easily vaccinate groups of employees during the latest phase of vaccinations. Beginning on Monday, May 17, employers can request a block of appointment at any of Massachusetts’ mass vaccination sites. 19: Mass Vaccination Sites Now Accepting Walk-Ins
In a major change to the state's vaccination strategy, vaccine seekers will be able to receive COVID-19 shots without an appointment. The new policy started Monday, May 10, at six mass vaccination sites across the commonwealth, including at the Eastfield Mall, at 1655 Boston Road, in Springfield, Gov. Charlie Baker said. Ex-Cop In Western Mass Found Guilty On Four Counts In Child Sex Abuse Case
A former police officer in Western Massachusetts has been found guilty on four of 26 charges levied against him in a child sexual abuse case. Former Springfield police officer Daniel Cintron was found guilty on two counts each of indecent assault and battery on a child and witness intimidation following a bench trial at Hampden Superior Court. 19: Pioneer Valley, Berkshires Pharmacies Rarely Administering Vaccine
Outside of hospitals, CVS and Walgreens are by far the largest distributors of COVID-19 vaccine in Massachusetts, but the national pharmacy chains have not provided many doses to people in the Pioneer Valley or the Berkshires.
