Teen Hit, Killed By Tractor-Trailer Walking Along I-91 In Western Mass Police are investigating after a tractor-trailer hit and killed a 19-year-old man on Monday, July 29, in Hampshire County.  The teenager was walking on I-91 in Northampton near the southbound on-ramp of Damon Road/Bridge Street rotary just before 10 p.m. when he was struck, the Northwestern District Attorney's Office said.  The man died at the scene. His name was not released as authorities notified his family.  The 56-year-old Canadian truck driver remained at the scene of the crash.  No charges have been filed, but state police are investigating the circumstance…

Hit-Run Crash: Police Ask For Help Finding Truck Driver In Northampton Police are asking for the public's help to find the driver who crashed into a pedestrian Tuesday afternoon, May 23, and sped away in Hampshire County, officials said.  The crash happened on Damon Road in Northampton just after 2 p.m. at the intersection of River Run Road. Northampton Roundabout Detour To Send Vehicles Over the Coolidge Bridge For two to three weeks, motorists exiting Interstate 91 at Northampton Exit 19 will be in for a  long detour over the Coolidge Bridge. The detour is necessary, state officials said, to allow for the construction of a new $8 million roundabout, traffic lights and pedestrian crossing at the Damon Road-Route 9 intersection in Northampton. The detour is set to being July 20 and could last 14-21 days, according to The Daily Hampshire Gazette. Once in place, there will be no going straight onto Damon Road.
