Children Stumble Upon Human Remains On Western Mass Island: DA A group of children found a body on a Franklin County island in the Connecticut River while on a nature hike last week, authorities said.  Reports said around 24 students and chaperones from the Westhampton-based summer camp Biocitizen Inc. stumbled across the human remains on Wednesday, Aug. 23, while on Rawson Island in Greenfield, the Northwestern District Attorney's Office said. Alert Issued For Missing Hampshire County Man Whose Rented Vehicle Was Found Stuck In Snow A man has gone missing in the region and authorities are asking the public's help in locating him. The Massachusetts State Police and Huntington Police Department are attempting to locate Hampshire County resident Robert Sherman, age 79, of Chesterfield, who last last seen in Hampden County on Monday, Feb. 7 around 9:30 a.m., in Westfield. Nearly 1,000 Massachusetts residents were without power as of 1:25 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 26, according to National Grid and Eversource.
