2 Guilty Of 2020 Stabbing In Western Mass; Both Awaiting Trial For Home Invasion: DA
Two men with lengthy criminal histories were convicted this week of stabbing a man in 2020 during a fight in Springfield, officials said.
Carlos Cuba, 33, of West Springfield, and Khair Abdul-Raheem, 34, of East Longmeadow, were found guilty of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon on Monday, Aug. 14, the Hampden County District Attorney announced Thursday. Abdul-Raheem was also found guilty of breaking and entering a vehicle in the daytime.

Parents Awoken By Strange Sound, Foil Kidnapping Attempt In Western Mass
When the parents went to investigate a strange sound in their home, they found a man on the second floor, dressed in dark clothes, and holding their toddler.
The man attempted to flee with the 20-month-old child, but the parents were able to tackle him and take their child back.
The incident took place on Saturday, March 13, sometime after 1 a.m. in Amherst, according to police.

Truck Slams Into Police Station In Apparent Jail-Break Attempt
A stolen truck crashed into a police station on Saturday, Sept. 26, in an apparent attempt to spring a prisoner.
At around 5 a.m., a truck careened into the Worcester Police Station near the entrance to the cell room, police said.
No one was injured, or freed, in the crash. Significant damage was caused to the cell room, police said.
Upon investigation, police discovered that the truck had been stolen from the St. Vincent Hospital parking lot.

Teen Charged With Murder Following Break-in At His Aunt's Montague Home
A Montague teen is being tried with murder in connection with a stabbing earlier this month.
Elijah Michonski, 18, of Montague, was arraigned, remotely, in Greenfield District County, on the charges of murder, two counts of aggravated assault and battery with a dangerous weapon (knife), two counts armed assault with intent to murder, two counts of home invasion, breaking and entering in the daytime with intent to commit a felony, and motor vehicle larceny, the Northwestern District Attorney’s Office said.
Michonski pleaded not guilty and is being held without bail, the DA said.
