West Springfield Man ID'd As Victim In Fatal Stabbing
A 50-year-old man has been identified as the victim in a West Springfield fatal stabbing over the Memorial Day weekend, authorities said. Joseph Seymour, of West Springfield, was killed on Saturday, May 25, just after 10 p.m. when he was stabbed, the Hampden District Attorney's Office said. Police were called to the 10-20 block of Amostown Road to a report of an unresponsive stabbing victim. Paramedics rushed Seymour to Baystate Medical Center, where he later died of his injuries. West Springfield police are investigating the slaying.

Teen Struck In Hit, Run Crash; Western Mass Police Asking For Videos
Hampden County police are asking for the public's help to find an SUV that crashed into a 15-year-old boy as he crossed the street over the weekend and sped away. The crash happened just before 5 p.m. on Sunday near the Piper and Amostown Roads area, West Springfield police said. A white SUV hit the teen as he crossed Piper Road and kept driving. The teen was knocked to the ground and suffered minor injuries, police said. His family took him to the hospital for evaluation after the crash. Officials in West Springfield warn residents to boil their tap water before consuming it after a water main broke on Tuesday, April 18, causing "dangerously lowered water pressure." The city posted this warning on its website: Due to a major water main break, certain areas in town have experienced dangerously lowered water pressure.
