A Westfield man is accused of causing a woman's death after he sold her a drug stronger than fentanyl, but told her it was far less harmful, authorities said. Christopher Halla, 42, is charged with manslaughter and tampering with evidence in the death of a 57-year-old South Hadley woman in May, the Northwestern District Attorney's Office said. Teen Hit, Killed By Tractor-Trailer Walking Along I-91 In Western Mass
Police are investigating after a tractor-trailer hit and killed a 19-year-old man on Monday, July 29, in Hampshire County. The teenager was walking on I-91 in Northampton near the southbound on-ramp of Damon Road/Bridge Street rotary just before 10 p.m. when he was struck, the Northwestern District Attorney's Office said. Man Dies Trying To Run From State Police In Springfield Crash: Troopers
A 41-year-old Springfield man died after he crashed his car trying to evade a traffic stop, authorities said. The crash happened just after 2:20 a.m. Friday, July 26, on Route 291 near Exit 4 in Springfield. A State Trooper attempted to pull over a 2013 Infinity G37 after it drifted over the line. The driver initially signaled that they planned to stop, but he floored it and sped away at speeds over 100 miles per hour, State Police said. Man Dies After Fall While Rock Climbing In Central Mass State Forest
A man fell and died on Thursday, July 11, in Leominster State Forest, the Worcester County District Attorney announced. Little is known as of Thursday night as State Police are investigating the circumstances around the death. Authorities also did not reveal any information on the victim. Teen ID'd As Victim In Fatal Springfield Crash On I-91
Authorities in Hampden County have identified the victim of a fatal crash last week on I-91 as a 15-year-old boy. State police were called to the crash site around 4:30 p.m. near northbound Exit 5 on July 2, authorities said. Police and paramedics provided medical aid at the scene of the crash, state police said. It's unclear if the teenager died at the scene or a nearby hospital. Workers at a Brockton wastewater treatment facility found the body of a man floating in the water Friday morning, May 24, authorities said. The workers called 911 around 8:15 a.m. when they found the man at the 303 Oak Hill Way plant, the Plymouth District Attorney's Office said. The man's name was not released.
