'Semper Fi, My Friend': US Marine, 68, ID'd As Victim Killed In Putnam Highway Crash
Authorities have identified the pedestrian killed while walking along Route 44 this weekend as 68-year-old Leo Blain of Putnam, Connecticut.
Blain was struck by a Ford Fusion around 6 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 23, according to Connecticut State Police. Paramedics transported him to Day Kimball Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Hugh MacKenzie posted a tribute on social media, describing Blain as a US Marine who deeply cared for others.

A 41-year-old man was extradited from Maine for a series of alleged crimes he committed in Connecticut, including selling narcotics and fatally stabbing another man.
The Windham County man, Walter Lawson – who is from the town of Putnam – was arrested on the strength of three arrest warrants, Connecticut State Police announced on Friday, June 28.
From September 2023 to May 2024, Lawson is accused of multiple crimes.
