'Semper Fi, My Friend': US Marine, 68, ID'd As Victim Killed In Putnam Highway Crash
Authorities have identified the pedestrian killed while walking along Route 44 this weekend as 68-year-old Leo Blain of Putnam, Connecticut.
Blain was struck by a Ford Fusion around 6 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 23, according to Connecticut State Police. Paramedics transported him to Day Kimball Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Hugh MacKenzie posted a tribute on social media, describing Blain as a US Marine who deeply cared for others.

A woman was killed while walking alongside a busy Connecticut road after a car veered into the sidewalk and hit a post office and two parked vehicles, police said.
The crash happened in New London County on Thursday, Aug. 29 just before 3:45 p.m., when a 2017 BMW X5 collided with a pedestrian, street sign, building, and two vehicles parked on Main Street in the borough of Jewett City in the town of Griswold, Connecticut State Police announced on Friday, Aug. 30.
