CT Father Of 2 Dies After Snorkeling Emergency In Hawaii
A Connecticut man on a Hawaii vacation with his family over the Christmas holiday died while snorkeling, authorities said.
Bryan Coppola, 61, of Bethlehem, suffered a medical emergency while snorkeling at the Ho‘okena Beach Park on Friday, Dec. 26, in South Kona, Hawaii Island Police said. A family member dragged him to the shore, where responders began CPR.
Paramedics rushed him to an area hospital, but doctors were unable to save the Danbury native.
“At this time, no foul play is suspected, and the investigation remains ongoing,” the police department said.

Two Long Island women were killed and another critically injured when a pontoon boat flipped on Flagstaff Lake in Maine, officials announced on Saturday, Aug. 30.
Farhana Nasir, 53, of Selden, and Kiran Akbar, 23, of Lake Grove, were pronounced dead at the scene, according to Maine officials.

Police have added new charges to a Connecticut man accused of a crash last year that killed a father of young twin daughters, authorities announced on Monday, Sept. 16.
Middlesex County resident Angel Caraballo, age 43, of Middlefield, was charged last week with second-degree manslaughter with a motor vehicle, second-degree reckless endangerment, and reckless driving linked to the Sept. 22, 2023, crash, Connecticut State Police said.

Girl, 9, Rescued From Swimming Pool At Danbury Home
A 9-year-old girl was rescued from a Fairfield County swimming pool by a bystander who administered first aid.
The incident occurred in Danbury around 3 p.m., Sunday, May 25, at a home on Westwood Terrace.
According to Erin Henry, spokesperson for the Danbury Fire Department, the girl, who was unconscious, was recovered from the backyard swimming pool by a bystander.
That person immediately administered first aid to the child, and by the time emergency services arrived, Henry said she was breathing on her own.
She was transported to the hospital by EMS.
