Friends and family are remembering two victims of a Long Island Sound boat crash that killed three and sent six others to the hospital in Connecticut.
New London County residents Ian Duchemin, age 25, of Oakdale, and Ryan D. Britagna, age 24, of Waterford, were killed on Monday, Sept. 2, when their boat hit the break wall at the mouth of the Connecticut River, the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection said. LL Flooring Files For Bankruptcy, Plans To Close 4 CT Stores
With some 300 stores nationally, the mega-floor retailer LL Flooring has filed for bankruptcy and announced it plans to close at least 90 stores, including four in Connecticut.
According to a statement from LL Flooring, the stores being closed in Connecticut include Fairfield County in Norwalk and New Haven County in Milford, North Haven, and Waterbury.
The business said the three remaining stores in Danbury, Waterford, and Harford will remain open.

A Connecticut man has admitted to committing at least 37 violent robberies across the state in 2022.
Hartford County resident Lonny Cross, age 45, of Bristol, pleaded guilty on Tuesday, May 21, for the crimes that ranged from Hartford to Fairfield County and one in New York in September and October 2022, said Vanessa Roberts Avery, US Attorney for the District of Connecticut.

Woman Killed In Crash After Hitting Debris At CT Construction Site, Police Say
A Connecticut woman was killed after hitting a curbing, fencing, and a dirt pile at a construction site.
The single-car crash took place in New London County around 2:50 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 29 in the area of Colman and Vauxhall streets.
When officers arrived on the scene they found Margaret Larsen, age 61, of Waterford, unresponsive, in a Honda Accord, said Capt. Matthew Galante, of the New London Police.
Larsen was transported to Lawrence and Memorial Hospital where she was pronounced dead, Galante said.

A Connecticut man has been charged in connection with the death in February of a 1-year-old girl who died from an overdose of fentanyl and other drugs.
New London County resident Travis J. Schubel, 38, of Salem was arrested Wednesday, Dec. 28, by Waterford police during a traffic stop, Connecticut State Police said.
The child's mother, Ricki Thomas, age unknown, also of Salem was previously arrested on Thursday, Nov. 3, and is currently being held at the York Correctional Institution on a $2 million bond on a manslaughter charge.

A Fairfield County man has been charged with the robbery of a Chase Bank and is a suspect in several other robberies.
Ramion Baker, age 41, of Bridgeport was arrested on Wednesday, May 25, in connection to a 2021 Chase Bank robbery in Shelton, said Det. Richard Bango, of the Shelton Police.
On Friday, Feb. 12, 2021, the Chase Bank located at 675 Bridgeport Ave., in Shelton was robbed by a masked man that handed the teller a note demanding cash, Bango said.
