Quadruple Murder: Mass. Man Guilty Of Vicious Slaying Of Cousin's Wife, 3 Young Children
A jury convicted a Massachusetts man of the brutal quadruple murder of his cousin's wife and her three young children at their Worcester County home, prosecutors said.
Matthew Locke, 38, formerly of Ware, was found guilty of four counts of first-degree murder in the slayings of Sara Bermudez, 38, Madison Bermudez, 8, James Bermudez, 6, and Michael Bermudez, 2, the Worcester County District Attorney's Office said.
Locke, a cousin of Moses Bermudez, committed the March 1, 2018, murders while Moses was out of town in California, authorities said.

A 56-year-old Connecticut man was shot and killed after shouting at strangers in an apartment building and waving a machete, authorities said.
John Reynolds, of New Haven, was killed around 5:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 4, in the Bella Vista Apartments at 321 Eastern St. in New Haven, police said.
Several people called 911 to report Reynolds was banging on apartment doors and waving a machete, authorities said.
When police arrived, Reynolds had been shot and killed by a resident following a fight, officials said. He died at the scene.

A Connecticut man who was allegedly suicidal and wanted to be killed by police was taken into custody after fighting and injuring several officers.
The incident occurred in New Haven County in Hamden on Wednesday, Aug. 7, at the Hamden Plaza.
According to Lt. Raymond Quinn of the Hamden Police, the department received word that the East Haven Police were trying to locate and arrest Derrick Gilliam, age 29, of New Haven.

A Connecticut man was shot and killed after being confronted by a man and woman while walking on a city street.
The incident took place in Hartford around 8:30 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 9 in the area of 2194 Main St.

A Fairfield County man has been sentenced for possession with intent to distribute heroin and fentanyl.
Anthony Gilchrist, age 32, of Bridgeport, was sentenced on Wednesday, Jan. 26, to 37 months in prison followed by three years of supervised release, according to Leonard Boyle, United States attorney for the District of Connecticut.
He pleaded guilty to the charge on Saturday, Nov. 20, the US Attorney's Office reported.

Western Massachusetts Man Sentenced For Extortion
A Western Massachusetts man was sentenced in federal court for collecting on an extension of credit by threatening and beating the victim.
Hampden County resident Anthony J. Scibelli, age 52, of Springfield, was sentenced on Friday, Sept. 3, to six months in prison and two years of supervised release, said the US Attorney's Office.
Scibelli was also ordered to pay restitution of $200 and forfeiture of $1,300.
In April, Scibelli pleaded guilty to one count of collecting on an extension of credit by extortionate means.
