An Amtrak passenger train and a tractor-trailer were involved in a crash in Connecticut. The collision occurred in New Haven County at a railroad crossing on Sackett Point Road in North Haven at 5:50 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 9. Police have released the identity of a man who was hit and killed by an Amtrak train in Connecticut. Hartford County resident Amani Abele Ashley, age 23, of Bristol, was killed around 5:30 p.m., Tuesday, May 30 while walking along the train tracks near the intersection of Surrey Lane in Berlin. A man who was killed after being struck by a train in Fairfield County has been identified. Scott James Harrington, age 59, of Riverside, a hamlet of Greenwich, was struck near the Cos Cob station by a New York-bound train around 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 3, confirmed MTA officials. Harrington was reportedly an employee at J.P. Morgan. The train engineer was briefly hospitalized following the incident, officials said. The incident is under investigation by the MTA.

A woman received minor injuries after falling between an MTA train and the platform in Fairfield County. The incident took place in Stamford around 8:10 pm., Tuesday, July 5 at the Springdale Train Station.
