CT Tractor Trailer Driver Killed After Truck Hit Telephone Pole
A Connecticut man died after his tractor-trailer veered off the road and struck a telephone pole, authorities said. Jeffrey Vincent Benis, 55, of Windsor Locks, was driving a Mack 600 truck when it left River Road in Willington just before 6 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 18, according to Connecticut State Police. Authorities have released details in the Friday, Jan. 17 crash along Route 9 that left one person dead in Putnam County. Person Struck By Tractor-Trailer In Fairfield County
A pedestrian was hit by a tractor-trailer and seriously injured on I-84 in Fairfield County. Connecticut State Police said the incident took place around 3:30 a.m., Monday, Oct. 25 near Exit 11 in Newtown. Responding troopers said the person was transported to an area hospital for treatment. A Massachusetts state trooper was seriously injured after being struck by a tractor-trailer while protecting a road construction crew.
