Man Killed In Overnight Shooting In Western Mass: Police A man has died in an overnight shooting in one Western Massachusetts city, authorities said. Police responded for of ShotSpotter alert in the the 0-100 block of Walden Street in Springfield around 1:35 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 8, Ryan Walsh, public information officer for Springfield Police, said on Twitter.  Upon arrival, officers found the man suffering from gunshot wounds. He was taken to a local hospital where he later died, Walsh continued.  The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to contact Springfield Police at 413.787.6355.

The two were found in Springfield around 10:15 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 25 on Maynard Street. According to Ryan Walsh, spokesman for the Springfield Police,  officers responded to a home on Maynard Street for immediate assistance after a relative found the man and woman dead inside the home from apparent gunshot wounds. Body Recovered From River In Region A man's body has been recovered from a river in Western Massachusetts.  According to Ryan Walsh, spokesman for the Springfield Police Department, the body was found around 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, Oct. 19, when officers were called to the 500 block of Hancock Street for a report of a body in the Mill River. Members of the Springfield Fire department recovered the body. Man Killed In Two-Vehicle Crash In Region A man has died after a crash involving another car in Western Mass. At around 2:50 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 14, officers were called to the 900 block of Boston Road for the crash involving a car and motorcycle, according to Springfield Police spokesman Ryan Walsh. The man driving the motorcycle was taken to Baystate Health where he died from his injuries, Walsh said. Walsh said a preliminary investigation indicates the motorcycle rider was driving at a high rate of speed. The driver of the car remained at the scene.

Nine Charged After Prostitution Sting Operation In Region Nine men were charged with soliciting prostitutes during a sting operation in the region. The "Johns" were arrested in Hampden County during the special operation conducted by the Springfield Police on Tuesday, Aug. 31, after the department received numerous "quality of life" complaints from residents in the area.
