Man Charged With Assault, Battery Of Police In Hampden County A Western Massachusetts man has been arrested for allegedly assaulting several police officers as they attempted to arrest him. Hampden County resident Norman Lafond, age 44, of Springfield, was arrested around 1:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 14 after Ludlow Police received calls of a suspicious male. According to Ludlow Police, callers told officers that Lafond was allegedly falling all over the road and into snowbanks. Man Accused Of Assaulting Police Officer At Northampton CVS A police officer in Western Massachusetts was hospitalized after being attacked by an unruly customer who was making a scene at an area CVS, authorities announced. In Hampshire County, officers from the Northampton Police Department responded to CVS on Main Street at approximately 2:45 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 5, where there was a report of a man inside the store causing a disturbance. Man Starts Fire At Starbucks In Fairfield County, Fights Officers, Police Say A man was arrested after allegedly starting a fire at a Starbucks in Fairfield County and then fighting with police. Joseph Graff, age 26, was arrested on Friday, Dec. 10, after police responded to the coffee shop in Greenwich. Once police arrived on the scene, they found that Graff had started a fire on the side of the building on Greenwich Avenue and began resisting arrest by running into the highway, blocking traffic, said Lt. Middlesex County resident Luis Morales, age 29, of Lowell, was apprehended by state police in an apartment on Pawtucket Boulevard in Lowell on Tuesday, Sept. 28.
