Ex-CT Police Chief Dies After Long Illness: 'To Know Him Was To Know Love' The longest-serving police chief in Connecticut history died last week at his home surrounded by his family, police in Hartford County said.  Former Windsor Police Chief Kevin C. Searles fought a long battle with dementia and died from the disease on Thursday, Nov. 7, his obituary said.  Searles worked for the Plainville Police Department, rising to the rank of detective, before taking the top cop job in Windsor in 1987. Alert Issued For Man Reported Missing For Months In CT Authorities in Connecticut are asking for help in finding a man who has been missing for several months. Todd Davidson, age 53, has been missing from Hartford County since Wednesday, Sept. 27, the Plainville Police Department announced on Tuesday, Nov. 28.  Davidson last spoke with a family member around a week before the day he was reported missing, according to the department.  He is around 5-foot-10 and 180 lbs with brown and gray hair as well as green eyes.  Anyone with information about Davidson's whereabouts is asked to call Detective Marc Rivard at 860-747-1616 …

Man Drowns After Driving Truck Into River In CT Despite Negotiation Attempts Despite authorities' best attempts at negotiating, they were unable to save a 63-year-old man who drowned after driving his truck into a river in Connecticut, police said. The incident began in Hartford County on Tuesday, Nov. 21 around midnight, when a suicidal man's pinging phone led police to the South River Street boat launch in Enfield.  According to Enfield Police, arriving officers began talking with the 63-year-old Plainville resident and attempted to negotiate with him.
