Drunk Driver Busted Going Wrong Way On I-395 In CT: Police
A Rhode Island man was arrested after allegedly driving the wrong way on I-395 while under the influence, state police said.
John Turo, 22, of Westerly, was taken into custody early Saturday, Jan. 25, near Exit 11 southbound in Norwich, Connecticut State Police said.

A bank robbery suspect didn’t make it far with his ill-gotten gains after police quickly arrested him and seized the cash and weapon used in the robbery, authorities said.
Santinho Samacau, 20, of Norwich, faces numerous charges, including robbery in the first degree, larceny in the second degree, and reckless endangerment in the first degree, police said.
Samacau is accused of robbing Centerville Bank on High Street in Norwich around 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 15. Authorities said he entered the bank with a pistol and demanded cash.

Two people are facing charges after a 3-year-old was left in an idling vehicle that was stolen from a Connecticut gas station parking lot this week, including the child's mother, police said.
Hainef Ramon Baker, 28, of Norwich, allegedly stole a Volkswagon parked outside a Valero gas station in Willimantic on Wednesday afternoon, Dec. 4, authorities said. Police later found the child unharmed and arrested Baker in Preston. He now faces multiple charges, including second-degree kidnapping, robbery by carjacking, and risk of injury to a minor.

Man Shot After Gunman Fires Wildly In Neighborhood, Hitting Home, Car
A Connecticut man was shot in the upper body Sunday night, Oct. 6, after someone wildly fired a gun in a New London County neighborhood, shooting a house and a car in the process, authorities said.
Police were called to McKinley Avenue near Warren Street in Norwich around 8 p.m., authorities said.
When Norwich Police arrived at the scene, they found the man with a bullet wound, the damaged property, and evidence someone had fired several shots. The man suffered non-life-threatening injuries in the attack.

A Connecticut man is behind bars after allegedly being caught inside burglarizing a smoke shop.
The incident occurred in New Haven County around 10 p.m., Tuesday, June 18, at the LVL Up Smoke Shop in Meriden.
According to Lt. Darrin McKay of the Meriden Police, a patrol officer responded to the store after receiving a burglar alarm notice.

A Connecticut man has admitted to committing at least 37 violent robberies across the state in 2022.
Hartford County resident Lonny Cross, age 45, of Bristol, pleaded guilty on Tuesday, May 21, for the crimes that ranged from Hartford to Fairfield County and one in New York in September and October 2022, said Vanessa Roberts Avery, US Attorney for the District of Connecticut.
