These CT Eateries Named Best Restaurants For Wine, New Rankings Say
Several Connecticut restaurants are the cream of the crop when it comes to their wine offerings, according to new rankings released by Wine Spectator.
A total of 36 eateries were recognized as winners of the 2024 Restaurant Awards released by Wine Spectator, a publication that serves as a leading authority on wine.
The restaurants named as winners of the awards, which were made public on Tuesday, June 25, are (by county):

A powerful storm packed with damaging winds has knocked out power to more than 100,000 across Connecticut.
As of around 7:45 a.m. Friday, Dec. 23, Eversource is reporting 97,652, with United Illuminating reporting another 3,447.

CT Man Wins $240,000 In State Lottery
Several CT Lottery players in Connecticut are feeling lucky after cashing in tickets worth six-figure prizes, including one that net a New Haven County man nearly a quarter-million dollars.
First, in New Haven, resident Thomas Staton won $240,000 playing “PLAY4 NIGHT” on a ticket sold at the Express Food Mart on Whalley Avenue in New Haven that was cashed in on Wednesday, May 4.
That same day, a winning $100,000 “Royal Treasure” scratch-off ticket was cashed in by a Milford resident that was sold from the Family Mart on New Haven Avenue in Milford.

CT Resident Indicted For Alleged Child Exploitation Offenses
A Connecticut man has been indicted by a federal grand jury for receiving child pornography and the distribution of child pornography.
New Haven County resident Kevin Curley, age 40, of Naugatuck, appeared on Tuesday, Dec. 21, in court and pleaded not guilty to the charges, said Leonard C Boyle, Acting US Attorney for the District of Connecticut.
In 2020, officials began investigating Curley for his involvement in an online community of individuals who sent and received child pornography images and videos via a hidden service website, court documents show.
