ID Released After Body Of 31-Year-Old Recovered From Lake In Ridgefield
The body of a missing Fairfield County man who was last seen swimming in a state park lake has been recovered. Cody Rugar, of New Fairfield, age 31, was found in Lake Naraneka in Pierrepont State Park in Ridgefield around 7 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 17 by the Westport Police Dive Team, said Capt. Jeff Raines of the Ridgefield Police Department. Swimmer Goes Missing At State Park In Ridgefield
Police and dive teams are searching for a swimmer who was reported missing at a state park in Fairfield County. The effort to find the person began just before 5 p.m., Monday, Aug. 14, at Pierrepont State Park in Ridgefield, after the Ridgefield Police Department received a call reporting they could not find the person they were swimming with. New Haven County resident Garrette Cruz, 22, of Waterbury, who is considered a highly-functioning man with autism went missing around 11:50 a.m., Sunday, July 23 from Rumford Street in Waterbury. Police in Western Massachusetts have asked residents to be on the lookout for a 72-year-old man with severe memory impairment who walked away from a hotel on Tuesday, July 18. Henry "Hank" Appleton was last seen in n Hampshire County at the Courtyard Marriott, 43 Russell St. in Hadley, around 2 a.m., state police said. Authorities are asking for help from the public in finding a missing 54-year-old woman with ties to numerous towns in Fairfield and New Haven counties. Melissa Tiefer, age 54, was last seen in Stamford on Wednesday, June 21, according to Norwalk Police Deputy Chief of Operations Terrence Blake. Missing Diver: Friends Continue Search For Former CT Police Officer In Bahamas
Friends and family members of a former Connecticut police officer are continuing their search for the missing man who disappeared while free-diving in the Bahamas. To help fund the mission for Hartford County resident Ryan Proulx, age 31, of East Hartford, the group has started a GoFundMe in an effort to raise enough money to keep the mission going now that the US Coast Guard has called off the search. Stamford Police say the body of a missing man was found in an area park and the circumstances are "suspicious." The body of Jaquan Tahir Saez, age 21, of Stamford, was found shortly before 5 p.m. in Boccuzzi Park located at 200 Southfield Ave., said Capt. Tom Scanlon of the Stamford Police. A Connecticut woman who was reported missing was found dead a day later floating on the shore of a river. The incident took place in New Haven County on Friday, March 3, around 2:30 p.m. in West Haven.
