Man Wanted In Newborn's Killing Surrenders To Western Mass Police After Month On Run: DA A 28-year-old Hamden County man who has been on the run since he was accused of a shooting that caused the death of a newborn baby on Oct. 4 has surrendered to police in Holyoke.  Kermith Alvarez will be arraigned on a murder charge on Monday, the Hampden County District Attorney said.
