A Connecticut man was caught speeding at more than 116 mph on Interstate 84 before troopers pulled him over and discovered his Infiniti wasn’t even registered or insured, state police said. Thomas Eldridge, 33, of Plainville, faces multiple charges following his arrest on Wednesday, Feb. 19, in New Britain, Connecticut State Police said. A police sergeant has been charged in connection with a crash in Connecticut that left a 24-year-old man dead, authorities announced. Fairfield County resident Shannon James Sherry of Fairfield, age 47, a sergeant with the Norwalk Police Department, surrendered himself to the Connecticut State Police on Thursday, Feb. 15 in connection to a fatal April 2023 crash, Norwalk Police announced. Jackknifed Tractor-Trailer Spills Fuel On Snow-Covered I-84 Stretch
Fuel had to be cleaned from a snow-covered stretch of Interstate 84 in Connecticut following a crash involving a tractor-trailer. The crash happened in Tolland County on Tuesday morning, Feb. 28, when an Amazon tractor-trailer crashed on Interstate 84 westbound in Willington between Exit 71 and Exit 72, according to state police. The tractor-trailer became jackknifed and spilled fuel as a result of the crash, police said.
