Beloved CT Diner Closing After Generations Of Family Tradition: 'Thank You For So Many Years' A popular diner along the Connecticut shoreline will serve its last customers after more than 80 years, bringing an end to a multi-generational family legacy. The Bridgeport Flyer Diner will close on Sunday, Feb. 23, the business said in a Facebook post. The diner is located on Route 1 in Milford, about a half-mile from the Washington Bridge over the Housatonic River. ID Released For CT Woman Pulled From Housatonic River A Connecticut woman who fell off a paddleboard in the Housatonic River and never resurfaced has been identified. The incident occurred in New Haven County around 6:15 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 1, in Seymour, according to Will Healey of the state Department of Energy & Environmental Protection. Healey said DEEP received reports of a paddleboarder in the Housatonic River, located by boaters in the region. The incident took place in Litchfield County around 3 p.m., Friday, Oct. 21 in Kent.
