Storm Watch: System With Damaging Winds Could Include Hail, Isolated Tornadoes
The month of April will get off to a stormy start with steady rainfall at times followed by severe thunderstorms with damaging winds that could cause power outages. The system arrived in the pre-dawn hours on Saturday, April 1 with rain and showers. Storm activity is expected to pick up in the afternoon through the evening. These Areas Could See Light Snow Accumulation Overnight
A new round of light snowfall is possible in parts of the region overnight Tuesday, Jan. 31 into early Wednesday morning, Feb. 1. A few tenths of an inch of snow is possible in areas shown in the image above, according to the National Weather Service. The high temperature on Wednesday will hover right around the freezing mark with mostly sunny skies. It will be continued cold on Thursday, with a high temperature in the mid to upper 30s. Here's When To Expect New Round Of Rain From Ian In Much Of Region
Much of the region will see a new round of rain from the remnants of Ian in the second half of a gray, raw, and blustery weekend. Sunday, Oct. 2 will be cloudy throughout the day with a high temperature of around 60 degrees and intermittent rainfall at times, especially in the early afternoon, mainly in areas farther south, especially in New York City and surrounding areas. Super Soaker: Slow-Moving Storm System Brings Drenching Downpours, Flooding To Region
Labor Day marked the unofficial end of summer. It also led to the much-awaited easing of severe drought conditions in much of the region as drenching downpours moved through the region during the afternoon, evening, and overnight hours. Heat, Humidity Return Ahead Of Strong Storms For July 4th Weekend: Here's What's Coming
The return of higher heat and humidity will be followed by the arrival of a cold front that will bring heavy thunderstorms to the region.
