Driver Jumps Out Of Passing Car To Help Resident Who Escaped From CT House Fire
A Connecticut resident received heavy burns to his head and face while escaping from his burning home. The incident occurred in New Haven County on Lynn Terrace around 6 p.m., Thursday, in Seymour. According to Seymour Fire Marshal Timothy Willis, when firefighters arrived, they found the home fully engulfed in flames and an injured resident who had "self-evacuated." A much beloved Fairfield County fire marshal has died suddenly, just a year before he planned to retire. Bridgeport Fire Marshal Alberto Hernandez, age 63, of Bridgeport, died on Monday, April 22. “I want to extend my deepest condolences to the family and friends of Alberto Hernandez," said Bridgeport Mayor Joe Ganim. Shelton Worker Burned During Equipment Fire
A Fairfield County worker was burned during an equipment fire at a business. The incident took place in Shelton around 3:30 a.m., Monday, Oct. 16 at 30 Oliver Terrace, said the Shelton Fire Department. Firefighters responded to the business on a report of an equipment fire and several reports of a loud explosion in the area, the department said. When firefighters arrived on the scene they found smoke visible from the machine that inside the building. Only Two Employees Of CT Assisted Living Facility Overdose On Job, Police Say
The only two employees on duty at an assisted living center in Connecticut both overdosed on fentanyl, leaving the patients without any help or supervision. The incident took place around 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 22, when the East Haven Police received a 911 call from a visiting nurse at the Caroline Manor Assisted Living facility reported a possible overdose of two employees.
