Unsettled Weather Pattern Will Bring Rain, Followed By Snow Chance: Here's What To Expect
A brand-new storm accompanying a warm front bringing 2 inches or more of rainfall to parts of the region will be followed later in the week by a chance of snow in parts of the Northeast. Rainfall will arrive from west to east after midday on Tuesday, Dec. 6, according to the National Weather Service. Precipitation will gradually end from west to east Wednesday, Dec. 7, starting in the afternoon. Start Of Summer Will Bring Change In Weather Pattern
Change is in the air as summer officially starts. The most notable change in the weather pattern will be the increase in moisture, according to AccuWeather Senior Meteorologist Dan Pydynowski. The mainly dry stretch will be followed by scattered showers on the first day of summer on Tuesday, June 21, which will also usher in the start of more humid air through the end of the week. Projected Rainfall Totals Increase As Ida Will Hit Region With Drenching Downpours, Flooding
Projected rainfall totals from this region from now Tropical Depression Ida have increased with flash flood watches now in effect for much of the area. The time frame for rainfall from Ida is Wednesday afternoon, Sept. 1 through Thursday afternoon, Sept. 2. Leading up to that, Ida will continue to produce heavy rainfall while tracking inland through the Southeast United States, eventually crossing the Appalachians, then off of the Mid-Atlantic Coast on Thursday. Powerhouse Storm Ida On Track To Bring Drenching Rainfall To Region: Here's Latest Timing, Path
Hurricane Ida made landfall as a Category 4 storm in southeastern Louisiana on Sunday afternoon, Aug. 29, the 16th anniversary of Hurricane Katrina, which made landfall as a Cat 3 hurricane.
