46-Year-Old Felon Nabbed Again For Multiple Robberies In Fairfield County, Police Say
A man who has served time in prison for armed robberies has been nabbed again for alleged multiple robberies in Fairfield County.
Jorge Ruiz, age 46, was arrested on Thursday, Feb. 16 for multiple armed robberies that occurred in Bridgeport. He was also wanted for armed robberies in Stratford and Naugatuck.
At the time of his arrest, Ruiz had an outstanding warrant for an armed robbery that occurred at Sergio’s Pizza located in Bridgeport at 780 Madison Ave., on Wednesday, Feb. 1, in which he was armed with a Mac 10/Uzi-type firearm, said Capt. Kevin Gilleran, of the Bridgeport Police.

CT Woman Assaulted, Robbed While Pumping Gas, Police Say
A woman pumping gas at a Connecticut gas station was injured after being assaulted and then robbed by at least one person armed with a gun.
The incident took place in New Haven County at the Cumberland Farms on Pershing Drive in Ansonia around 4 a.m., Tuesday, Dec. 27.
According to the Ansonia Police, several suspects, driving a stolen vehicle, confronted, assaulted, and robbed a woman who was pumping gas.
At least one suspect was armed with a firearm. The suspects fled in the stolen vehicle after the incident, police said.

New Haven County resident Kenneth Procino, of Milford, won a $50,000 Powerball prize, CT Lottery announced on Friday, Oct. 14.
The ticket was purchased at Jay's Mobil Mart, located at 1271 Stratfield Road in Fairfield, the lottery said.

Police In CT Ask Public For Help Finding Missing Engagement Ring
Police are asking the public for help locating a missing engagement ring.
A diamond engagement ring was left on a sink at a Cumberland Farms in Litchfield County, located at 376 Danbury Road in New Milford, between noon and 1 p.m. on Sunday, April 6, according to the New Milford Police Department.
Police said the diamond was described as lab-grown and pear-shaped and "certified by IGI, serial #LG12098907, G color, VS1 clarity, no fluorescence, .82 carats."
The serial number is etched onto the diamond, police said.

On Monday, Nov. 29, a Trumbull resident cashed in a winning $300,000 “$1,000,000 Golden Riches” scratch-off lottery ticket that was sold at the Trumbull Super Stop on Main Street in Fairfield County.
